Tom Huddlestone was on the scoresheet as England's Under-21 side rounded off their preparations for the European Under-21 Championships with an emphatic 5-0 win over Slovakia at Carrow Road.It was the 20-year-old's first goal for the Under-21's, hitting a powerful first-time shot from a Peter Whittingham cutback which curled away from the goalkeeper, to give Stuart Pearce's side a 4-0 lead with nine minutes left.

A Kieron Richardson spot-kick and Nigel Reo-Coker strike had put England two goals to the good, before Wayne Routledge, introduced as a half-time replacement, created the third by beating his marker and drilling a low cross in for Steven Taylor to poke home. Leroy Lita completed the scoring with England's fifth.

The game was followed by a penalty shoot-out with Tom and Wayne both successfully converting in a 4-3 win for England. Ben Alnwick was an unused substitute.
