The winger created Dimitar Berbatov’s fifth minute opener in the 1-1 draw with Wigan Athletic at the weekend and also impressed in the game against Middlesbrough at The Lane the previous Saturday.
And Tom feels that a winger on this kind of form makes life a lot easier for midfielders like him in tight games.
The England Under-21 international said: “Aaron’s on fire so it’s just a case of getting the ball to him as much as possible at the moment.
“If he gets into a one-on-one situation with a left-back, he will take them on more often than not and goals are created that way.
“For a midfielder, Aaron’s always an option. If you’re in trouble, you can always look to put it in behind the full-back and he’ll always have a good chance of getting on the end of it with his pace.”
Despite the good football being played by Juande Ramos’ side, we are still without a win in four games.
But Tom is confident it is only a matter of time before we start converting the draws into wins, and added: “I think we’re creating enough chances and I think if we hold onto a lead for longer than we have been doing, it will give us the confidence to finish games off.”
