The Belgian international defender once again teamed up with compatriot Jan Vertonghen at the back as we twice recovered from going a goal down to draw 2-2 at the Liberty Stadium.
Christian Eriksen was responsible for both our goals, both from set pieces, while Andre Ayew and a Harry Kane own goal accounted for Swansea’s side of the scoreline.
Toby saluted the efforts of the players after we pushed hard for a winner in what was our seventh game of a gruelling 21-day period and admitted to feeling a sense of frustration that we couldn’t claim victory – emotions which he said are indicative of the progress the squad is making.
“I think we deserved to win,” he summed up. “The first goal was a good goal from them but their second goal was so unlucky from our side.
“We’ve shown great character again and we were very good in the second half, creating lots of chances.
“We deserved to win, unfortunately that didn’t happen, but a point at Swansea is not bad, although the overall feeling is that we’ve dropped points, which says a lot about where we’re at.”
