Victory for the Red Devils would ensure they cannot finish any lower than second in Group B and thus would be assured of their place at the tournament finals next summer.
Joined in the Belgium squad by Spurs team-mates Jan Vertonghen and Nacer Chadli with Mousa Dembele omitted as he continues his comeback from injury, Toby hopes to help his nation get over the line this evening after a competitive qualifying campaign that’s seen them tussling with Ben Davies’ Wales for pole position in the group.
“I’m looking forward to the game – we’ve got the chance to qualify, which is great,” said defender Toby, who is often utilised at right-back for Belgium with Jan playing at left-back.
“It’s a long time since we last qualified for the Euros. The last time was when we were hosts, but now it’s different.
“It’s a different feeling to what we had at the start of the qualifying campaign because it’s become almost normal for us to perform well now.
“We have to qualify, though, and we can do that this weekend.”
Should they slip up tonight, Belgium will still have a chance to secure qualification when they host Israel on Tuesday, October 13.
