The former Ajax and Atletico Madrid defender joined us in July and has played a huge part in us enjoying the joint-best defensive record after 10 games of the Premier League.
“I’m really enjoying it, really happy,” said Toby, who opened his Spurs account with a goal in the bug 4-1 win against City.
“The lads all helped me through the first weeks and now I feel at home and that’s important.
“I feel I’ve made a little difference in the team, I’m helping the team and that they appreciate that, so I’m very happy.”
Toby has started all 10 games in our defensive unit alongside Jan Vertonghen and Kyle Walker with Hugo Lloris starting nine.
“We’re well organised, we don’t concede a lot of chances and we’re consistent.,” he added. “We’re playing well, but it’s only 10 games.
“We have to keep going and improve. We’re a young, talented squad and everyone is eager to get better. That’s what I feel. We’re eager to improve, eager to keep clean sheets and eager to win.”
