With our central defensive trio in such good form, Anthony Gardner found the suggestion of a forfeit for the first one to get injured an amusing incentive.
Anthony, Ledley King and Dean Richards provided the foundations on which the victory over Leeds and the goalless draw with Liverpool was built on, with Glenn commenting afterwards that it was the first time he had been able to play the three together in back to back games.
With four points earned and only one goal conceded in those matches, perhaps a forfeit to keep them in harness might not be such a bad idea...
"You can have a word with Deano and Ledley about that one!" laughed Anthony. "I'm sure we'll try and keep ourselves fit and playing as everyone wants to stay in the team as well.
"It is tough because you pick up injuries on occasions which knocks the shape of the team out - especially at the back. We've played back to back games now, but injuries have prevented this in the past.
"It was nice to have another game with the three of us and we tried to keep it as a solid unit. Hopefully we can now stay fit and get better and better as the season goes on.
"Liverpool was one where we we knew we needed a good defensive performance throughout and one where we tried to nick a goal. We had a few chances but, unfortunately, we couldn't stick one away."
