Thousands raised for Poppy Appeal

The Club is delighted to announce that a combined sum in excess of £41,000 was raised from our fundraising activities for The Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal campaign.

More than £38,000 was generated from our recent online auction of special edition match shirts, worn by the team during the 4-2 Premier League victory over Blackburn Rovers at the Lane on Saturday November 13, with an additional £2,800 from donations collected from fans at the game.

The online auction received an overwhelming response, with supporters from all over the world bidding thousands of pounds for the exclusive items.

Rafael van der Vaart's signed match shirt fetched the highest amount from all available items with bidding ending at just over £3,500.

All money raised in the auction will go towards the Poppy Appeal, which aims to offer support for those who serve, emphasising the increasing need to help the men and women who are serving today, as well as ex-Service Armed Forces personnel and their families.

The Club would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who took part for making such a significant contribution to this worthy cause.
