We are in the Czech Republic for the first leg of our UEFA Cup Round of 32 tie, and our First Team Coach is hoping to be taking a lead back to White Hart Lane for the return in a week’s time.
Therefore, attacking football looks set to be on the agenda at the Stadion Evzena Rosickeho as we go all out to win the game.
Gus said: “We know that it’s not always possible to win the tie in one game, so we have to be clever and look at it as a 180-minute game, and this is just the first half.
“We have to go there to produce and do our best so we give ourselves the best chance possible to come back to White Hart Lane and win the tie.
“We need to put in a lot of effort, concentrate, and then push forward and try to score goals.”
Gus is wary that Slavia will be fresh from their two-month winter break but is insistent that we concentrate on our own game first.
He added: “They’ve made a few changes over the winter break so it’s like a fresh start for them. We need to be careful but not worried about the opposition.
“They’re a decent team technically, they’re used to winning games because they’re top of the league, but with all respect, we need to think about ourselves.”

Gus Poyet says we will be treating tonight’s game with Slavia Prague as just the first half of a 180-minute match.
