THE SUN'S out and that means golf is back on the agenda

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

THE SUN'S out and that means golf is back on the agenda.

And where there's golf, there's banter - especially if David Bentley is involved.

'Bents' was heard giving Peter Crouch a bit of stick before training.

Xtra was lurking with intent, as always, and just heard Bents come out with '...he must be the only golfer to be on 14 points after one hole...'

For you non-golfers, the points he's referring to are stableford points. That's how the sport uses the handicap system and therefore players of all standards can compete together.

Anyway, it would appear Bents has still got the right 'ump with Crouchy after a recent round at nearby Woolston Manor GC.

What happened then? "Before we teed off Crouchy was giving it the usual one about 'hardly playing golf, not played in ages, needs a big handicap' so he played off 28," said the midfielder.

"We get to the first par five, almost 500 yards and he goes and eagles it (scored a three). Unbelievable!"

Crouchy came over as Bents was telling the story. "Just talking about your eagle at the par five that time," said Bents.

"Oh yeah," beamed Crouchy with no inkling of guilt whatsoever. "Loved that."

The lads warmed up as usual before going into a mobility and speed fitness session. They then moved onto ball work with high-tempo five-a-side before playing a 10-a-side match with the goals placed on the 18-yard lines.
