THIS WEEK: Steffen talks about United, the season and United again...
"I'm pleased to say that my injury is forgotten and it was nice to be back.
"I have to say thank-you to the manager for putting me on the bench after only three or four sessions. If you know me I am always strong enough to be on the bench. It was nice to be there.
"It was a good win, the team played very well especially Simon Davies, who was the key man. For me the second and third goals were down to him.
"If we talked before the start of the season when we were aiming for sixth place then to finish 12th is disappointing. But if you see the whole season, the injuries and all the problems then the change of manager, that’s why we’ve finished 12th again.
"That is not good enough for Tottenham, everyone knows that, but if you see the whole season then that is okay. At least we were never involved in relegation trouble.
"The injuries were the key thing. The youngsters were not ready to play and if you have a lot of injuries and put five or six youngsters in they can play well for one game, I told you, but they need more experience to know what is going on in the Premier League. Now is a better feeling because the youngsters are ready.
"The feeling is positive for next season, but not too positive.
"Last season many people said we were going for the sixth position and I was the same. If we have a full squad we have a chance because sixth place wasn’t far away sometimes. But for sixth the squad wasn’t good enough. Now, with the youngsters, the squad is stronger but you always need more quality.
"United won by many points again and that makes me a little afraid because the Premier League is very strong. I know that. If one club is so much in front then that is no so good.
"I know how strong the other clubs are, Arsenal, Leeds, Liverpool, you only have to look at what they did in European competitions.
"If United are 10 points clear again then perhaps something is wrong. Manchester United is a special team but I hope next season is closer."
