Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

“First of all it was good to see Darren Anderton sign for the club again. It was important that both Darren and Les Ferdinand stayed at the club.

“It was hard to lose Sol but it is nice to have Les and Darren here and now we have Teddy, Gustavo and Goran at the club. Perhaps we might sign Christian Ziege as well. We will have a good squad.

“Everyone knows if Darren is fit he is an important player for us. Maybe, with David Beckham, he has the best right foot in the Premier League and for set-pieces, corner kicks and free-kicks, he is a dangerous player.

“It was important to hold him because if he is fully fit and Stephen Carr is fully fit we will have a very strong right side.

“Of course, we are all now back in training in La Manga. Everyone is a little tired because the first session is at six-thirty in the morning.

“That is early but we then have a long time to rest after the second session in the afternoon before the evening session.

“It is not easy because it is 40 degrees here in Spain. But we are starting training and that is important. The first day was two sessions of running, not very hard, not very far but a long time and this is the right way to bring the fitness back.

“Holidays are always nice but you come back and start work again and everyone in our profession knows we have to work hard to be ready for the start of the season.

“Talking of the start of the season, this time around is very similar to last season when we played at home against Ipswich on the first day and then went to Middlesbrough and Newcastle.

“It will be a difficult first game against Villa but we have a good chance to win. It is nice to start at home with a full stadium, a great atmosphere and we all hope we can have a good start this season.”
