In with all the speculation linking Martin with the vacant manager's role at Ajax this morning it was claimed that he was hoping to sign players that would go straight into the first team, rather than youngsters for our 'second track' for the club's future.
As he stepped onto the players' coach this afternoon departing for tomorrow night's FA Cup replay at Nottingham Forest, Martin responded again to the speculation and re-iterated: "I'm happy here.
"It was an incredible story. There was a lot of rubbish in it, especially the stuff about Frank Arnesen and me. That was a disgrace. We are not just working together, we are practically living together and we have just one purpose - Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.
"He's happy and I'm happy and I have no problems with the senior management at the club either, but you will always get people looking to drive a wedge between you. Everyone knows we are working well together and there are no problems.
"I'm very happy with the players we've got into the club. Andy Reid is a good example, a young player like Tom Huddlestone is one of the best passers around. Mido as well. Why shouldn't I be happy? It's a load of rubbish."
As for the fifth round replay at Forest, Martin added: "It is one of the biggest games of the season and I'm confident because we want to achieve things and go places."
Martin Jol has reacted angrily to suggestions that he is unhappy at the club and with the club's dealings in the January transfer window.
