THE LADS were flying high as part of a fitness routine in training on Tuesday.
The squad was split into two groups with one group being put through their paces by the fitness coaches as the other concentrated on football. They then came together for a match and some shooting practice.
The 'speed and power' fitness session involved short, sharp exercises including running with a medicine ball, jumping over hurdles, sprints, weights and running in a harness as one player's partner tried to hold the other back - as demonstrated by Luka Modric and Wilson Palacios below.
MICHAEL DAWSON had a complaint as Xtra snapped away during training.
"I've always got a right facial expression on during these exercises," he said.
And before Xtra could return with 'they say the camera never lies', Daws followed up with: "And they say the camera never lies..."
We'd never noticed, Daws, honestly...
IT'S A BIT of a Daws special in this latest update.
Xtra is pretty sure most of our magnicent away support noticed how he fell for one of the oldest tricks in the book at Craven Cottage on Saturday.
It's certainly a case as 'the old ones are the best' as the rest of the lads got him with the old 'pretend we're going out to warm-up, but then stay behind in the tunnel and leave the captain on his own' routine.
It worked a treat as well. Daws ran out, clapped the our supporters, kept on running and had got some 50 yards before noticing that the rest of the squad were cracking up in the tunnel.
Daws wasn't having it though. "I knew it was coming," he said. "To be honest, I don't care. I'm happy to run out on my own. At least then I get all the applause from the fans!"
We believe you Daws, millions wouldn't, but we do...
