Martin Jol offers his post-match assessment on the 4-0 over Aldershot at the Recreation Ground on Sunday...
IT IS ALWAYS good to play against teams like Aldershot, it was a very nice pitch which offered every opportunity to play good football. Sometimes we played some good football but, as we were not sharp enough with our final ball or finishing, it was just 2-0 at half-time.
After the break it was their right to drop off and try and keep it tight. It made it a bit more difficult than in the first half but, as I said, we should have done more in that time. We should have done a better job and scored five or six goals and we didn't do that.
It was good to see all the lads playing over the weekend and make an assessment. We now look forward to the game against Porto.
Tactics were not that important in a game like this, we were the better team as expected so it was just a good exercise.
We have things to work on and that is a positive thing. Aldershot were a good team to play against and they tried to pressure us - I think we have to do a better job though.
