Martin Jol offers his post-match reaction to the 2-2 draw with Boca Juniors in the Peace Cup on Saturday.
IT WAS A first full game for most of the lads as they only played half a game against Stevenage. It was very hot and I think we did ever so well.
We started off not concentrating 100 per cent because one pass led to a goal, but we came back and did very well to make it 2-1. In the second half it was very hot and difficult for us to play in, but we managed to get a draw and it was a bit disappointing because Boca are probably the best team in our group. If we had won we would have been a terrific position.
The main thing is we have a game under our belt and on Monday we have another game against Sundowns. I am pleased that we showed character and came through well.
We were under a lot of pressure until Jermain scored his goal and that is why we have players like him who can score a goal out of nothing - Mido also did well with his goal.
Boca looked very sharp up front and we had real difficulties in the first 15 minutes, but we coped with it and you must take into consideration that this was only our second game of pre-season.
