THE BEST THING for me against Fulham was the first 15 minutes when I realised the crowd was supporting us so much and they were terrific. That was good because I told the players that we must show the fans we are proud to wear our shirts and play with a lot of desire.

I think they did that. The only thing is, after half time when you get three chances in a couple of minutes, it is much easier if you score a second one. We were nervous and lost a lot of balls in midfield, but I think we defended well and they only had one big chance with Radzinski.

It could easily have been a draw with that and it would have been very disappointing. As it turns out, it is a different place at the Lodge and everybody is happy again - we now look forward to the game against Charlton.

I have been satisfied with our start to the season as we had two difficult away trips in our first three games

People said we then had two home games which we could win - but they were against Chelsea and Liverpool!

We still have 12 points and I am happy with that. We have kept five clean sheets and that is very important, but we have to score goals. When we didn't Mido was suspended, Edgar Davids was out and, when he plays like he did against Fulham with a lot of heart and a good mentality, we look different.

He is leading by example, Ledley King was outstanding on Monday too and that is what you need. Naybet was playing and he did a great job as well. You shouldn't forget, we had five away wins last year and he played in all of them - he is so experienced and he gives the other players confidence.

Looking back, we had five or six good chances and they had only two so I think we deserved this win.
