The Jol Verdict

Posted on 19 December 2004  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Martin Jol offers his considered verdict on the thrilling encounter with Southampton at the Lane...

IT WAS AN incredible afternoon and it is always exciting to be involved in the Premiership. To have four straight wins is even more terrific and I am delighted.

I hope that the lads will grow and we have to grow all the time - I think they are showing this. When you have a new team you often have to suffer a bad spell, but now they have shown that we have a very good bunch of players which can do well and go places in the league.

This is the sort of performance I want. It is all about good intentions and top intentions for the future, to play good football, know what you want and build from the back.

It was nice to wake up and read such positive reporting of our game but, of course, some of the British press are never happy with just the good news and one newspaper today is still trying to suggest that there are issues at the club.

This club has, in the past, had the misfortune of having to change managers due to a lack of success and the chairman altered the management structure in the summer in order to address this.

Frank and I are working hard to get his club back to the top. Daniel Levy is the man who bought us in and we are are determined to succeed for him.
