David Pleat described Jamie Redknapp as his 'general' after Sunday's draw against Arsenal.
It was Jamie's best performance since returning from months out with a knee injury - leading the huddle before the first whistle, letting fly from 25 yards to kick-start the comeback and leading the celebrations after Robbie Keane's injury time equaliser.
"I'm delighted for Jamie," said David. "He showed good leadership and he was my older player in that group.
"He was the general and his job was to get the younger troops to respond to the general.
"We had two young centre-halves, Gardner and King, with Ledley back from midfield where's he's done excellent for us this season and covered for the loss of Davies and Redknapp.
"They worked very hard as a group, deserved their comeback, deserved the point and I'm pleased for the fans as well, they were fantastic."
