A is for ACTOR…If you were an actor, who would your leading lady be?
Sienna Miller.

B is for BOREDOM…What do you take on a long journey to keep you occupied/amused?
A pack of cards.

C is for CARTOONS…Who is your favourite cartoon character?
Bugs Bunny

D is for DESTINATION…What is your favourite town/city and why?
My home town Dublin, it’s just a great place with everything you could want from a city.

E is for ELECTRONIC…Are you a gadgets person and what is the most hi-tec piece of equipment you own?
My girlfriend brought me a new music system for Christmas, one of those where you can produce your own CDs.

F is for FAMOUS…What’s the best/worst thing about being famous?
The best thing about being famous is that it means your successful at something you love doing. I would say the worst is your lack of privacy.

G is for GROUNDHOG…Which day would you like to repeat over and over again?
When we beat Everton here 4-3 a couple of years ago and I scored a hat-trick. My family were all here at the game and it was a great day for me.

H is for HARASS…What annoys you, or winds you up?
When I’m in my car and I let someone out at a junction and they don’t acknowledge you — that really winds me up because it doesn’t take much to thank you.

I is for ICON…Who is your all-time favourite sports person?
I suppose I never really had an icon as such, but I was a Liverpool fan as a youngster and used to enjoy watching John Barnes and Ian Rush in particular.

J is for JACKET POTATO…What filling would you have in a jacket potato
Beans and coleslaw.

K is for KARAOKE…If you had to sing a song, which one would it be?
I don’t mind singing, I would probably go for Tomorrow Never Comes by Ronan Keating..

L is for LUCKY…Do you have a lucky charm or a superstition?
I go through phases with superstitions, but I always have a bath and a shave the night before a match.

M is for MOVIES…What’s the last film you saw?
It was 50 First Dates, with Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore and it was stupid but funny!

N is for NERVOUS…What are you scared of?
I wouldn’t say I’m scared of anything, but I do get nervous when I’ve had to do live TV appearances. I’ve done a couple back in Ireland and I’m not used to it, so it does make me nervous.

O is for ORIENT EXPRESS…What’s the best journey you’ve ever been on?
When I went to the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea, it was a fantastic experience.

P is for PARANORMAL…Do you believe in ghosts? Have you ever seen a ghost?
I don’t believe in them, but I did see a programme last week where people had videoed things which looked like they might be ghosts, it makes you wonder. Also, my landlady at the digs I was staying in when I was at Wolves reckoned she saw the ghost of a little girl in the house — so that made my stay there a lot easier….!

Q is for QUICK…Who’s the quickest player you’ve ever played against?
Thierry Henry would be the fastest opponent, but I’ve never played up against him obviously. For a defender, I would say Rio Ferdinand, he’s quick.

R is for RECIPE…When did you last cook…and what did you cook?
I cooked chicken and pasta last week.

S is for SOUNDS…What did you usually listen to in the car on the way in today?
Usually Magic FM but if I’m not enjoying the music on there, then I’ll put on my CDs of Irish pub songs !

T is for TOMORROW…What do you always put off until tomorrow?
Food shopping — it drives me mad!

U is for UNEXPECTED…What’s the biggest surprise you’ve ever had?
Looking back on my career now, I’m really surprised that I’ve become the all-time leading goalscorer for my country. When I started playing football, I never dreamed I would achieve something like that, so that has been a big surprise in a way.

V is for VANILLA…What’s your favourite ice cream flavour?
If you’d asked me this a couple of weeks ago, I wouldn’t have had a clue, but I tried some Haagen Dazs Vanilla and Caramel recently, and it was delicious !

W is for WITHOUT…Is there anything that you just can’t live without?
Football, family and friends

X is for XYLOPHONE…Have you ever played a musical instrument?
I play the guitar a little. I started having lessons last year but knocked it on the head in the end.

Y is for YELLOW CARD…When did you last get a yellow card, and did you deserve it?
I think it was in the Carling Cup tie at Bolton this season, I probably didn’t deserve it though !

Z is for ZOO…What’s your favourite animal at the zoo?
Monkeys and all of the big cats, I’m a big fan of the lions, tigers, leopards etc
