Our big £5m summer capture from Wimbledon has been laid low with a groin problem since the win against Leicester City in November.
But he is back in full training, played 90 minutes for the reserves last week, travelled to Everton with the squad on Saturday and has now declared himself fit.
Ben revealed: "I’ve been back in training, played for the reserves last week and it was shame not to get another 90 minutes under my belt when the reserves’ game was called off on Tuesday.
"I’ve basically been doing pre-season stuff — plenty of running and getting my fitness right again.
"I feel I’m ready to play again now. I probably need three or four games to get 100 per cent match fit but I feel sharp.
"I don’t enjoy watching games and it has been nice to be back training with the lads and getting back into the banter."
Ben actually felt the problem before the Leicester game. "I was on the bench for that game but had to go on early and tweaked it a bit more," he said.
"It was just a bit of wear and tear in there, perhaps a few torn fibres. It needed rest more than anything."
Ben Thatcher says he is ready to return to the Premiership arena.
