Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Michael Carrick has thanked Head Coach Martin Jol for putting his faith in him.

The midfielder faced a battle for a midfield spot against the likes of Pedro Mendes, Sean Davis, Jamie Redknapp and Michael Brown when he joined us at the start of the season.

Martin installed Michael to central midfield on his appointment as Head Coach in November and the Michaels - Carrick and Brown - have been the mainstay since with Sean spending three months sidelined and Jamie joining his father Harry at Southampton.

It has certainly paid dividends - Michael was rightly named man of the match in Sunday's vital 1-0 win against Newcastle United.

"Martin has been terrific for me since day one," said Michael. "He has given me a chance in the team. It was up to me to prove I deserved it and now I have had a good run in the team.

"He has given me a lot confidence, a lot more belief and a lot more responsibility than I had in the past and I have benefited from that."
