Head Coach Martin asked the crowd to be his '12th man' in the build-up to the game at White Hart Lane.
He wasn't disappointed. Another packed house of 36,000-plus were right behind the side from the first whistle to last and rewarded with a five-star performance.
Fredi Kanoute netted twice in the first half and Ledley King put us 3-0 up. Villa pulled one back before the break but Andy Reid's cracker from 30 yards put us 4-1 up and put the game beyond doubt. Stephen Kelly added the fifth before the final whistle and Martin couldn't have been happier.
"The fans were magnificent," said a delighted Martin afterwards. "It's so important to have the fans backing you in this sort of game. They started before the game, were noisy all the way through and I'm grateful for that."
Martin Jol thanked the fans for their support after the crucial 5-1 win against Villa on Sunday.
