Anthony Gardner sees Saturday's derby against Arsenal as the perfect opportunity to kick-start our season.

Frustration has been the name of the game in our last two matches with penalty appeals turned away in a 1-0 loss at Manchester United followed by a 3-3 draw at Fulham after we’d led 2-0 and 3-1 before suffering a last-minute equaliser.

Late goals have worked in Arsenal’s favour this season and led to victories over Fulham and Manchester City and the Gunners arrive at the Lane unbeaten with three wins and a draw so far.

“It’s a massive game for everyone connected with the club,” said Anthony, back in training this week after a thigh injury. “It’s a game we’d love to win. We look to win every game but this is a special rivalry and we need the points as well.

“We’re at home and it’s an opportunity to show we mean business. We’ve had a couple of setbacks but it’s early in the season and this could turn things around. There is no better team for us go out and beat than Arsenal and we’ll be working hard to do that. We just want the three points.”
