Michael Dawson knows we must be as up for Tuesday’s visit to Blackpool as we were for our Champions League trip to the San Siro last week.
Now the dust has settled on that famous victory in Milan, it’s back to the bread and butter of the Premier League and a must-win encounter at Bloomfield Road as the race for top four places heats up.
The captain believes Ian Holloway’s side, who are without a win in six, will be desperate for a three point haul that could ease their relegation fears.
But ‘Daws’ is hopeful we can show the sort of character that has seen us win our last three games on the road both at home and in Europe.
He said: “One week you’re playing against AC Milan, now we’re going to Blackpool and we’ve got to be ready for each game and take it like any other. There are three points on the line and we badly need them.
“Blackpool had a fantastic start to the season. They’ll just be hoping to pick up a few more wins to secure their place in the Premier League for next year.
“Hopefully we can go there and get three points like we have done in the last couple of games away from home, but it’s going to be tough.
“Their fans are loving it no matter what team goes there and will be full of voice, while their players will play with no fear.”
On our recent away form, ‘Daws’ continued: “Every time you play away in the Premier League it’s going to be tough and you can never underestimate teams.
“It’s not always pretty. You have to dig deep when you go to places like Blackburn and Sunderland, and we’ve certainly shown the grit and character you need to win football matches away from home.”
