The midfielder has had to contend with a spot of gentle teasing of late due to being unable to string a run of games together due to illness and injury. His best sequence this season was between early November and mid-December when he featured in five successive games.
His all-action style of play and nature of his game will inevitably lead to the picking up of knocks throughout the season, but he is on course and fully fit for the challenge of taking on the FA Cup finalists at Upton Park.
"It is a shock - but I am looking for three in a row now!" joked the Finland international.
"I am really fit now and looking forward to Sunday. This season has been one of bad luck for me and next season I will hopefully have less injuries."
The combative Teemu did well to emerge from his central midfield battle in the Bolton encounter unscathed, a team who play in a fashion he has not come across before.
"It was definitely a first for me," he added. "In France there were a few teams who were hard to play, but nothing like Bolton. They really have their own style on they do it very well.
"I am really pleased we got the result we needed. They press all the time, although we didn't play well and the first half was very bad, but at this point of the season it is only the result that matters," he contined, before reflecting on the atmosphere inside the Lane on the occasion.
"It has been great all season, but it was really special this time. I think the fans were delighted with the victory and we now have one more game in which we also need to win."
Teemu Tainio is looking for a hat-trick when we head into our final - and particularly vital - game of the season against West Ham on Sunday.
