Teemu Tainio is hopeful of being able to make a return to the side against Charlton at the Lane on Sunday.

The all-action midfielder sustained an ankle injury against Aston Villa two weeks ago and has today been able to work outside with the physios. He will have a late fitness test ahead of the Charlton test.

"I managed to train with the physios and it went well so I am hoping to be able to train with the team and be alright for Sunday," reported the newly shorn Finn who admits he has taken a bit of stick over his new look.

"All the players are kidding me about it and it isn't the best one, but you have to change sometimes."

With no wins in our last three Premiership outings, Teemu views victory on Sunday as vital, although he is aware that Charlton do have a good record on our patch.

"Any other than a victory on Sunday and we will be very disappointed. We want to start winning again and we have to do it against Charlton and get the points.

"I heard about it Charlton's record - so it will be a good time to change it."
