Teddy Sheringham feels that tonight's Worthington Cup encounter with Cardiff is the ideal platform to show character and what the team is really about.
The skipper expressed the natural disappointment of the team at the 3-0 defeat to Middlesbrough on Saturday and says they are glad of an early opportunity to flush the result of of their system.
"We were in on Sunday morning, obviously not doing a lot, but thinking things over," reflected Teddy at Spurs Lodge. "We were all very disappointed and we're just pleased that we've got a game on Tuesday night to try and put things right.
"Even if we hadn't have had a bad result Cardiff was still going to be a difficult game - even more so now.
"Our fans will be having a good look at us and I feel it is a good stage for us to show a bit of character and show what we're really about."
There is certainly no danger again of Spurs soft-peddling in the Worthington Cup - Teddy insists that it is a competition there to be won.
"It is the chance to win a competition. We're only in three in the season and it is a chance to win one of them.
"I'll be giving it my all and I'm sure everybody else will."
Please note: Tickets for tonight's fixture at the Lane are no longer on sale and remember that the London Underground stops running from 8pm.
