Teddy's king of the swingers

Posted on 27 September 2001  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

It's official! Teddy Sheringham is not only skipper of Spurs, he is also top boy on the golf course - finishing first out of the players at our corporate golf day at the prestigious Abridge Club.

Teddy was most under par, possibly for the first time this season and was closely followed by Simon Davies. Reported golf bandit Matthew Etherington finished down the field.

Chairman Daniel Levy, Glenn, John Gorman, Martin Chivers, Martin Peters, Pat Jennings, Cliff Jones, Hans Segers, John Moncur and Theo Foley took part in the event along with the first team golfers, playing in teams comprising of our box holders and executive members.

The team prize, on a glorious day, was won by Casa Sports, whose team included none other than Gus Poyet.

A Gala dinner followed in the evening, attended by the entire first team squad. David Buchler, Glenn and David Pleat addressed the assembled audience at what was described as a 'fantastic dinner'.

Commercial manager Scot Gardiner said of the hugely successful day: "It was a superb day, and a great way for the players to meet the box holders and executive members in a relaxed manner away from the pitch or the office. We are looking forward to having other golf days in the near future.

The event was filmed by Trans World Sport for use in their Premier League Magazine programme and for THTV. Trans World have contacted the club to say the film of the event makes an excellent feature for their show.
