Teddy's a ladies man

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Teddy Sheringham has been presented with the 2003 Sue Sharples Memorial Award in recognition of his efforts in raising sponsorship for the Tottenham Hotspur Ladies Football Club.

This year's award goes to Teddy after the Ladies Club committee unanimously voted him the individual who has done most to assist in their progression over the last 12 months.

Teddy, who collected the award at the Club's training ground at Spurs Lodge, commented, "I'm delighted to receive this award. The idea behind the sponsorship was to try and make a contribution that made a difference and I'm really pleased that we have done that and hopefully this sponsorship will continue for years to come."

The Ladies Club award the trophy yearly in honour of Sue Sharples who was the co-founder of Tottenham Hotspur Ladies FC and also Membership Secretary for the main football club. She tragically collapsed and died whilst training at the club on April 19, 1994.
