In-form Teddy forged a great understanding with Shearer on England duty - including that famous goal in the 4-1 win against Holland in Euro 96 - and the Toon marksman recently described our skipper as his favourite international striker partner.
"I'll be having a little word," explained Teddy. "They've all know him, they've played against him for years but people like Ledley King are a little less experienced.
"I don't know too much about the others but I can definitely tell them about Alan."
Teddy, a goalscoring hero as England qualified for next summer's World Cup earlier this month, believes Shearer could still play a part for Sven Goran Eirksson.
Teddy added: "Alan's had his injuries but he always seems to bounce back. He's back amongst the goals again and no doubt he'll be up there in the 20s by the end of the season, which is what he does every season.
"He looks as strong as ever. That's his way of playing. He is a strong character, strong player, strong runner and can score goals from all angles so it's one of those situations where we will have to watch him.
"I still think he could play for England. It was definitely a partnership I enjoyed. We had a lot of fun in Euro96 and all that and nice moments to look back on. Hopefully there won't be too many for Newcastle players on Sunday."
Teddy Sheringham will do all he can to let our defence in on a few of Alan Shearer's secrets before Sunday's encounter against Newcastle United.
