There's no way we can afford to slip up from here on in. We are seven points off the European places and there are still seven or eight teams that are hoping to get in there. We are one of them and even though we are few points adrift we've got to give it every chance.
We have got some great games coming up before the end of the season and you never know, the lads are still fully focused even though we've had a couple of bad results.
We were disappointed with the way we got in front against Liverpool but then conceded two sloppy goals from our point of view and let them back into it. We went to Bolton with confidence and performed well in the first half, but they put the pressure on after the break and we were frustrated to end up losing that one as well.
Having said that, there are still enough games left and plenty of points to be played for and we'll keep giving it our best shot to try to turn it around. Our performances haven't been that bad, the first halves against Liverpool and Bolton were good, but we have to get that consistency for 90 minutes. If we can get the win today, hopefully that will hold us in good stead for the remainder of the campaign.
Obviously I know Jamie Slabber well and it was great to see him come on and make his first team debut against Liverpool. He did well in the 10 minutes or so that he played, Jamie is definitely one for the future.
It was also great to see the Doc scoring for the Republic of Ireland the other day, that should give him a big lift. With Robbie back as well, we should be more potent up front and be able to start turning matches in our favour.
Enjoy the game.
Last time out I spoke about the ups and downs in the course of a season, well if we want to qualify for Europe we are going to need ups all the way now.
