Jaap Stam should line-up in the heart of Lazio's defence in the prestigious friendly at the Lane.
The pair were together at Manchester United when the Old Trafford outfit clinched the Premiership, FA Cup and European Cup in 1999.
Stam's shock exit from United to Serie A followed just a couple of months after Teddy returned to the Lane.
The pair will meet for the first time since on Sunday.
"I'm looking forward to it," said Teddy. "It's been a good pre-season with the games we've had.
"As a player, you want to face these top teams and to pit yourself against them.
"I won't be going into many shoulder charges against Jaap, he's a little too big for me! I'll try and test him another way. He was magnificent at United and is a quality player."
Teddy Sheringham is looking forward to pitting his wits against a former treble-winning team-mate on Sunday.
