Teddy on Harry

Teddy Sheringham knows a thing or two about leading the line for Spurs and England - and he's liked what he's seen of the emergence of Harry Kane.

Our legendary former striker and captain sits proudly ninth in our all-time top goalscoring list and is one of only 16 players to score 100 goals for us, notching 124 goals in 277 appearances in two spells between 1992-97 and 2001-03.

Teddy also won 51 caps for England and in the week where Harry earned his first England senior call, he's been impressed with the 21-year-old who also hails from Walthamstow.

"He's come on the scene really well this year and I like the way he plays," said Teddy, who helped United win their famous treble in 1998-99 with goals in both the FA Cup and European Cup Finals.

"He gets himself around the goal all the time. He's not solely interested in getting glory goals; he scores a bit of everything."

Harry has scored 26 goals in all competitions this season including 16 in 19 starts in the Premier League.

Indeed, he's scored 14 goals in his last 14 appearances in the Premier League - form that has earned back-to-back Barclays Player of the Month Awards in January and February and now a senior England call.

Speaking in United's programme, Teddy continued: "The header he got against Arsenal recently was, in my opinion, one of the goals of the season. You don't see many goals like that anymore."
