We announced Frank's appointment as our new Sporting Director yesterday and he will join us in July after 10 successful years in the role at PSV Eindhoven.
Chairman Daniel Levy also announced in interviews yesterday with our mobile service spurs (((on!))) that he hoped to appoint a new manager 'in the near future'.
The relationship between the manager and Sporting Director is vital and Frank explained how that relationship works.
"The manager will concentrate 100 per cent on results and being with the players every day," he said.
"It will be my job to transfer players, oversee the Academy, the medical situation - all the things inside a football club. I have experience of this side of a football club. It is a role that suits me and I have done for the last 10 years.
"Of course, all signings will be after consultation with the manager.
"When I was a player, then a coach and general manager, I realised you have to work as a team to be successful.
"I have always thought that the knowledge of two people combined can be a big asset. "
Frank Arnesen insists team work is one of the keys to a successful continental style management structure.
