The young French defender has missed our last two games after picking up an ankle injury at Aston Villa on New Year's Day.

First team coach Gus Poyet reported this afternoon that striker Darren Bent remained doubtful with a knee injury that has kept him out since Fulham on Boxing Day.

Jermaine Jenas serves a one-match suspension after picking up five yellow cards and he joins a missing list in midfield that includes Tom Huddlestone, also suspended and Didier Zokora, who is on international duty with the Ivory Coast.

Long-term injured Gareth Bale (foot), Anthony Gardner (ankle) and Benoit Assou-Ekotto (knee) remain out.
