Martin Jol says he will use the full squad in the back-to-back friendlies against Bordeaux and Nice as we kick-off our pre-season campaign tonight.

Last season’s Ligue 1 runners-up Bordeaux are first up at the at the Stade Olympique d'Albertville as we face three friendlies as part of our training camp in France.

We then face Nice, eighth last term, at Stade Municipal d'Evian on Friday. Both matches kick-off 7pm local time (6pm UK).

Boss Martin has a squad of 26 players to select from with skipper Ledley King expected to return to action after recovering from a broken metatarsal either tonight, against Nice or next Tuesday's friendly against Celta Vigo.

“Bordeaux and Nice are good teams and that is important – it’s what we wanted,†said Martin after the second of Wednesday’s training sessions.

“For me, the most important thing is the training camp as a whole to prepare the players for the next couple of weeks and to get fitter and fitter. That is the target.

“We have brought a lot of players out here and we will play all of them in two different teams.

“Bordeaux is a very good team, high in the league for all of last season and a lot of quality players, so it will be a very good test for us.

“Three or four of the players will perhaps play the full 90 minutes and it’s not a big problem – you need to get 90 minutes under your belt as soon as possible.â€Â
