Erik Edman is in the frame for a return in tomorrow's Barclays Premiership clash at Manchester City.
The Swedish full-back has missed our last three games after limping off at half-time at Aston Villa with an ankle problem.
But he's made good progress and Head Coach Martin Jol reported on Thursday: "Erik Edman trained today, first team training this week and could be in the squad as long as he has no problems on Friday.
"Goran Bunjevcevic is back in training and doing well and Anthony Gardner, he's had trouble with his injuries, but now he's back and that gives us more options."
However, Martin revealed on Thursday that Robbie Keane had been suffering from a knee problem - which could be bad news with Jermain Defoe suspended.
Reto Ziegler (hamstring), Sean Davis (knee) and Simon Davies (virus) are also out.
If Robbie does miss out, Martin hinted that Eddie Silva Sousa or Mark Yeates could get a call.
"I have several options," said Martin. "I have Silva Sousa and Mark Yeates, who has played well in the second team and perhaps other midfield players playing higher up.
"Eddie is a skilful player, big, six foot one, good in the box but it's dfferent in the second team.
"Yeates has been the best player in the second team for the last couple of games, has quick feet and got his chance last season, so everyone knows him."
