Ledley King is set to start tonight's friendly against Nice at Stade Municipal d'Evian but Robbie Keane misses out with a slight neck problem.

Skipper Ledley fractured a metatarsal in his foot against Everton on April 15 but has been a regular visitor to Spurs Lodge over the summer and has taken part in all our pre-season work.

However, striker Robbie will have to sit it out, as boss Martin Jol explained: “Robbie is injured and can’t play this time, it’s a muscle problem in his neck, so Lee Barnard will probably start.

“Ledley King will come in and will play for the first time since his injury alongside Calum Davenport, who will also get his chance. Tom Huddlestone will pull the strings in midfield and Hossam Ghaly will also play, he’s done well so far in pre-season. It will be a totally different team.â€Â

Jermain Defoe may also feature against a Nice side that finished eighth in Ligue 1 last season having opened his account for pre-season with the opener in Thursday night’s 2-1 win against Bordeaux. Paul Stalteri and Teemu Tainio are other likely starters.

The second friendly of our training camp in France kicks-off at 7pm local time (6pm UK) in Evian.
