Club captain and centre-half Ledley missed Wednesday's FA Cup win at Nottingham Forest because of ongoing groin problems.
"Ledley's fine," said coach Chris, before pointing out that Noureddine Naybet, who also missed the Forest tie with a groin injury, was 'still a slight doubt'.
The big blow after that Forest game was midfielder Pedro Mendes suffering a fractured toe. Chris told the media at yesterday's pre-Southampton briefing that he was waiting for reports, but expected him to 'be out for weeks'.
Meanwhile, the fact that our reserves' game against Coventry was called off on Wednesday night appears to have put back a possible return to the first team squad for midfielder Sean Davis.
Sean has played 60 and 90-minute stints in two reserves games since returning from a knee injury but Head Coach Martin Jol said last week that he needed another game under his belt.
"He was disappointed the reserves' game was called off," said Chris. "He's made good progress but he's not quite ready yet."
Andy Reid is available after being cup-tied for the replay at Forest but Michael Dawson remains out with a shin problem. "He'll be running soon," added Chris.
Chris Hughton reports that Ledley King is fit for Saturday's trip to Southampton in the Barclays Premiership.
