Martin Jol reports good and bad news on the injury front as he prepares for Saturday's trip to Aston Villa.

On the positive side, Ledley King's knee injury has settled down, Aaron Lennon is progressing well from his knee operation and Steed Malbranque has started running again this week following his hernia operation.

However, Pascal Chimbonda remains a doubt with the calf problem he picked up last time out against Portsmouth and Jermain Defoe has returned from England duty with a knock on his foot.

Teemu Tainio is also out following hernia repair surgery.

Speaking at his pre-Villa press briefing, Martin said: "Pascal Chimbonda has a problem with his calf and is undergoing treatment.

"Teemu Tainio is recovering from an operation and will be out for up to six weeks.

"Aaron Lennon is progressing well and may return to full training this weekend while Steed Malbranque has started running and that is going well.

"Ledley King's knee has settled down and he may return to training tomorrow but Jermain Defoe took a knock to his foot playing for England we will assess him tomorrow."
