Edgar Davids and Teemu Tainio are both doubtful for Wednesday night's clash against Manchester City.

Edgar is struggling with an ankle injury while Teemu - a goalscorer on his return to action from a knee injury against Newcastle on New Year's Eve - has missed training through illness.

The midfielders are joined on the doubtful list by striker Grzegorz Rasiak while Ledley King (groin) and Andy Reid (knee) remain out.

"Teemu has to be a question mark because he was ill yesterday, so we have to make an assessment on him," reported Head Coach Martin Jol after training on Tuesday.

"Edgar has a bit of a problem with his ankle. He could be out but it's Tuesday so we have another day and hopefully he'll be 100 per cent.

"On the other hand, Browny (Michael Brown) came on against Newcastle and did a terrific job as he always does, so we have no problems in that area.

"Ledley is still out, Andy Reid is still out and Grzegorz Rasiak has a dead leg and is still a doubt."
