Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Ciaran Toner and Steven Ferguson have been drafted into a squad that Glenn Hoddle has described as ‘down to its barest bones’ before Wednesday night’s trip to Sunderland.

Gary Doherty (broken leg) and Goran Bunjevcevic (fractured cheekbone) have been added to the long-term injury list this week, a list that includes the likes of Stephen Clemence (knee ligaments), Steffen Iversen (leg), Stephen Carr (knee), Willem Korsten (hip) and Chris Armstrong (abdomen).

At least Tim Sherwood (thigh), Anthony Gardner (knee) and Ben Thatcher (hip) are on the road to recovery.

There are also concerns over Darren Anderton’s Achilles for tomorrow’s clash.

There is positive news with the return from suspension of midfielder Gus Poyet.

Glenn reported: “Gus is available after suspension which is a bonus for us.

“Obviously Goran is out, he was operated on yesterday. We will have to see if Darren is fit tomorrow, that will be a late shout and other than we will be late picking the team and getting on with the organisation of it.

“Ciaran Toner and Steven Ferguson have come into the squad and will travel. The squad is down to its barest bones, no disrespect to those young boys, but they are inexperienced at this level.”

Goran’s fractured cheekbone was typical of the ill fortune we’ve suffered so far this term — Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink simply turning into him and clashing heads in Sunday’s encounter against Chelsea.

“It was such a fluke injury,” Glenn lamented. “He just turned and you do that a hundred times in a game but this time he caught Goran on the cheekbone.

“It’s a real blow but we have to roll our sleeves up, show a bit of spirit like we did at Everton. We went there, 11 v 11 and I think we would have won, but with nine men we showed a lot of character.”
