Team news: Ziege out

Posted on 7 December 2001  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Christian Ziege is out of tomorrow's Premiership clash against Charlton Athletic.

Our in-form wing-back has been ruled out by a foot problem and joins striker Les Ferdinand and suspended midfielder Steffen Freund on the sidelines.

Les misses out after taking another knock on the ankle problem against Bolton on Monday that initially ruled him out of last week's Worthington Cup win at Fulham.

However, better news sees fit-again Mauricio Taricco, Tim Sherwood, Steffen Iversen and goalkeeper Kasey Keller all named in the 18-man squad for the Valley.

Defender 'Tano' returned to training this week after missing our last three fixtures with an ankle problem sustained against Arsenal.

Tim and Steffen have been in reserve team action after longer-term problems while Kasey is back as Neil Sullivan's deputy after ankle surgery.

Squad: Sullivan, Keller, Taricco, Bunjevcevic, Perry, Anderton, Sherwood, Sheringham, Rebrov, Poyet, Leonhardsen, Iversen, King, Davies, Gardner, Richards, Piercy.

Robinson will miss out after being forced off early in the win over Chelsea with a groin strain.

Jonatan Johansson (dead leg) and Mark Fish (sore knee) are also doubtful after picking up knocks at Stamford Bridge.

But Shaun Bartlett and Steve Brown are both back in contention after missing the midweek match.

Alan Curbishley also has the option of giving full debuts to Jorge Costa and Chris Bart-Williams, although another loan signing, Gavin Peacock, has returned to QPR for further treatment on a back injury.
