Team news: Rebrov out

Posted on 20 April 2001  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Sergei Rebrov is out of the trip to to face Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday after suffering a hamstring strain during Tuesday night's defeat to Chelsea. Chris Perry is also missing with a knee injury which required ten stitches.

Perry's absence is particularly felt in the central defensive area, where Sol Campbell and Ledley King are also out.

Glenn Hoddle must decide whether to draft Gary Doherty back into defence to join likely starters Alton Thelwell, Anthony Gardner and Luke Young.

In the absence of Rebrov, Doherty could be needed in an attack which may see the return of Les Ferdinand, who Glenn rated as an 'outside chance' earlier in the week. Les in in the squad, while Willem Korsten and Steven Ferguson are Glenn's other attacking options.

Full squad: Sullivan, Walker, Carr, Doherty, Thelwell, Gardner, Young, Sherwood, Clemence, Leonhardsen, Davies, Etherington, Ferdinand, Korsten, Piercy, Hillier, Toner, Ferguson.
