Our Yugoslavian defender picked up a knock on his ankle in Monday’s draw at Everton and has been on the treatment table this week.
Nevertheless boss Glenn Hoddle revealed that he had trained on Friday and had a chance of featuring at Ewood Park.
Glenn said: “Goran has a knock. He’s trained today quite well and might travel. He’s one we’ll keep open. He has a chance.”
Better news sees the return of strikers Les Ferdinand and Sergei Rebrov after knee and mouth problems respectively.
However, Tim Sherwood, Oyvind Leonhardsen (both ankle), Stephen Carr (knee) and long-term casualties Willem Korsten (hip), Chris Armstrong (groin), Ben Thatcher (hip) and Anthony Gardner (knee) remain out.
Meanwhile, Graeme Souness will be without midfielders David Dunn and Turkish international Tugay.
Dunn has a long-term injury after damaging knee ligaments at Derby last weekend and Tugay has not shaken off the thigh problem that has kept him out of Rovers' start to their Premiership campaign.
Alan Mahon is likely to start again in central midfield in place of Dunn after he acquitted himself well in the 2-2 draw against United.
We are 2/1 to win the game and 33/1 to match their 3-0 victory four seasons ago - click for details.
Goran Bunjevcevic is the big doubt for Saturday’s trip to Blackburn Rovers.
