The defender had to withdraw from the England squad for last Sunday's friendly against Denmark after a back problem that surfaced last Friday.
But he's been back in full training at Spurs Lodge this week and, as he confidently predicted on www.spurs.co.uk on Tuesday, is fit for Villa.
There are no changes on the injury front with coach Chris Hughton reporting a clean bill of health from our international players.
Steve Carr, Gary Doherty, Robbie Keane, Mbulelo Mabizela and Helder Postiga have all returned from international duty and are all named in the squad.
Chris told the gathered press this afternoon: "We've been fortunate that the players away on international duty have all reported back fit and we're thankful for that."
That means longer-term - but all progressing - injured players Simon Davies (thigh/hip), Christian Ziege, Jamie Redknapp (both knee) and Fredi Kanoute (ankle) remain out.
Anthony Gardner is fit to face Aston Villa on Sunday after missing out on a first England cap last weekend.
