The good news on the injury front this week saw Thimothee come through his return to action after a knee injury in Cameroon's friendly defeat against Germany on Wednesday.
But Anthony misses out with a recurrance of the foot problems that have troubled him in recent weeks.
That could mean an instant call-up to the squad for Villa for Calum Davenport after his return from a loan spell at West Ham.
Head Coach Martin Jol explained: "We called Calum back because Anthony has been injured for about six weeks now and that is a problem.
"We only have a couple of young kids behind Naybet and Ledley King so we needed cover and maybe they will now compete for places.
"If Anthony is fit - and I think that could be next week - we have four good defenders and every Premiership team has that.
"Anthony has a little pain in his foot, he had a scan and there is a slight problem there but it's not a fracture or anything bad.
"He had a training session with the rehabilitatiton coach and that went well, but he is not fully fit."
Martin will also be without injured Goran Bunjevcevic (shin), Sean Davis (knee), Stephen Kelly (thumb/concussion) while Kasey Keller is on loan at Southampton.
Thimothee Atouba returns but Anthony Gardner sits it out again as we head for Aston Villa on Monday.
