Glenn Hoddle has indicated Robbie Keane will make his debut against West Ham on Sunday - but the boss has 14 players either doubtful or definitely out of the Premiership derby.
Chris Perry (facial injury), Jamie Redknapp (calf), Mauricio Taricco (groin), Matthew Etherington (knee) and Dean Richards (shoulder) have all been rated by Glenn as '50-50'.
Perry, incredibly, looks to have come through his horror clash with Fulham's Pierre Wome without serious damage while Etherington and Richards both picked up their knocks at Loftus Road. Redknapp and Taricco both missed out on Wednesday night, but both have trained this week.
Gus Poyet, Darren Anderton, Steffen Freund (knee), Ledley King, Alton Thelwell (hip), Neil Sullivan (broken thumb), Steve Carr (hamstring), Steve Clemence (Achilles) are all out and Sergei Rebrov completes the list, having returned from international duty with a slight calf problem.
Speaking at this afternoon's press conference at Spurs Lodge, Glenn reflected: "It's a bit of a sorry state and something I was hoping would change this season.
"We're still in the same mode as last season where we've got eight or nine players out. That's just fact. It's frustrating to see the talent in the treatment room that isn't available."
As for Keane, Glenn added: "It's the first week he's been able to train with us and work with us, bedding down with a few of the midfield lads and now he's worked with the front players. You say, yes, there's a good chance he will be playing."
