Taricco's target

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Maurico Taricco has Europe in his sights again this season - and wants us to do it via the Premiership.

We just missed out on the UEFA Cup via the Worthington Cup last term and the defender hopes we can make it this time by finishing in the top five or six of the Premiership.

'Tano' insisted: "There is no doubt we have to aim for a UEFA Cup place and ideally, in my opinion, that would be through the league.

"It's not going to be easy. As we said last season, five, six, seven teams are saying the same thing. Hopefully we can play, be slightly more consistent and get into that place."

Mauricio expects a tough start at Everton but as he explains, what game wouldn't be?

He said: "It's a new beginning and everyone will try to start well and please their home crowd. It is tough but then again, which game isn't tough?"

We managed a draw at Goodison Park last season despite having two men controversially sent off.

"I remember that one," added Mauricio. "I wasn't the best game for us but we got a decent result when you look at the circumstances. Now it's a brand new game, new season and we'll try to play well and get the points."
