The Argentinian defender completed his first full 90 minutes for the reserves following a groin problem on Monday.
He said afterwards: "I played another game as well last week, another 60 minutes. I've trained okay for a month now and it's okay, I am ready to play.
"I've told the coaches that I'm alright but now, with a big squad, I'll have to wait for my chance."
Mauricio faces a battle on his hands with Christian Ziege and Stephen Carr finally paired together as wing-backs in a 3-5-2 system.
But he knows it could all change in an instant. "At the moment we haven't many injuries but with football you never know," he pointed out.
"From one game or one day to another you can pick up injuries and then you are struggling again.
"Hopefully that won't happen but if it does, we now have players ready to go."
Mauricio Taricco has declared himself fit and raring to go again in the Premiership.
